| Notes: | This particular wine is likely well on its way past its prime. The 1975 ports were never a stellar vintage, and most if not all are well on their way to becoming tawnies. These wines were ruby red to start with, but over time these wines lose their color which falls out as sediment (which is why you need to decant these old ports). Many of these 75's are now a light pink with amber edges. Had you decanted it and left it in the decanter for 5 hours or so, some of that pepper and alcohol smell might have dissapated, but it sounds like your bottle has particularly headed south. |

| Notes: | I found a bottle of this in the basement of my mom's house. It is amber in color, and has a camphor smell. I'm assuming the port is madeirized. Was this port originally red- and has oxygen caused the color to leech out? The drink is now the color of butterscotch taffy. |
