Review:A very under-rated year, now developing magnificently. The Warre 1980 is one of the finest produced. Rich, full and beautifully balanced. Great Vintage Port.

Notes:First of two bottles of vintage port enjoyed on 14/04/03(well it was my birthday!).
Not obviously to my taste, as I have a very sweet tooth. However this was quite delightful. Certainly in the classic dry Warre style, but with pleasing sweet plum finish. Elegantly balanced quality with pleasing bouquet. Smooth & ready to drink.
Another fabulous bargain at £18 inc’ duty/VAT for a 75cl bottle from Terry Love (finewineseller.co.uk/). Sadly Terry has sold out of this, & the replacement stock is more expensive. But I strongly recommend keeping a close eye on this web retailer, as Terry has a knack of finding bargains that make some of his competitors blush!

Notes:I rate this higher than Roy.Still very dense, needs time, probaby three or four years. Fragrant, but with a very dry finish. Bought my case in London for a very reasonable £160 in 2000.
