I have in my possession a bottle of Quinta Do Noval LB port with no markings on it to indicate it,s date or year of bottling.
The writing on the bottle (there is no label on the front) is in a white stencilled paint.
The label on the back also gives no indicatoin other than manufacturer details and the importers name - Rutherford, Osborne & Perkins - Middlesex UK
The top of the bottle is capped and stamped in a lead casing (or wrap). There is the remains of a seal tape over the bottle that has the serial numbers AO 438981 on it -
Can or has anyone any clues as to age or other details in regard to this particular bottle - would really appreciate some feedback in whatever form possible. | Posted on Feb 5, 2004
